If you frame most of your work by your own, perhaps youll know this:
youve buy a perfect frame for your finished pattern - only the passepartout in it is either too small or too large. So youve to buy a new one, especially made for YOUR pattern. I often have this problem and Im always a bit angry to have to spend (much) more money to order these special models.
Today I received my last purchase: a mat cutter to make my own passepartouts now :D. Its the "Logan 350-1 Compact EliteMat Cutter"
The cutter is rather big (nearly 90 cm, therefore it came in its original packaging with a shipping label on it as you can see on the first picture.
After I had built together all pieces (this took me a while.... sorry Im a lady :P), I was ready to cut my first passepartout. Its still not perfect but it was really easy to make. (and I use only a "normal" piece of paper for my practise and not a special one)
Now, Im going professional :lol:lol
Urmel thanks alot for sharing your sweet parcel with us :P
I loved how it was not wrapped hehe and the lable was on it,, :lol
I bet it is handy :D :D >> please let me know if it works like wonder hehe
I might get myself one because as you said it is hard to find that perfect frame for your work
Thank you all!!
After cutting some mats, I must say that the cutter really works very well. And I was always very happy with the result.
The cutter is a bit more expensive but worth it.
I can really

Ive been looking at these for awhile now. I have used this model when I took a framing course. You can buy circular cutters too for framing! Make sure you have lots of blades, they dull really quickly and dont cut too well when they get dull. I decided to wait til I can afford one and I want one I can mount to a table; its really expensive though!
Very interesting - thanks for sharing :) - it is well worth keeping in mind.
I have over the years done a lot of frame shopping in 2nd hand shops as they often have old pictures in really nice frames - and they hardly cost anything. A tool like this would easily make it look a lot better !
