Im going to have to try to make some this way.  I like the look of them.  I usually make mine with the lever back earing findings.  I can use them as earings or stitch markers.  The neat thing about the lever back findings is that they are removable if you knit them in.

this obviously doesnt look as great but depending on your needle size you can just use soda tabs!  ive done that a lot of times when i was knitting on planes and couldnt grab my good stitch markers

Thanks again – I just wanna add that I basically bent a paper clip and was able to make a really strangely shape one haha
