Suggested Yarn: Radius Yarn - 1 Skein Bulky, 1 skein Worsted in Dark Brown
A great way to substitute yarn for this pattern is by using all worsted weight, and holding it double for the bulky section!
Suggested Needles: 32” - US 10, US 9 and US 8 circulars (If it is more comfortable, you may want to downsize to a 24” needle when you switch to the 8s.)
Finished Measurements: Unstretched circumference - 30” at the neck; 38” at the base; Length - 13.5”
The lace work makes this a nice stretchy cowl, but if you want to knit a larger or smaller size, add or subtract 10 stitches from the total amount, which will give you -/+ 3 inches to the circumference. Since all of the shaping is done with yarn weight and needle size, there is no need to adjust anything else. (If you do not plan to wear this as a capelet, there is no need to adjust the sizing.)
Skills recommended for this pattern: knitting, purling, working in the round, increasing and decreasing.
